Red River Perspective
While no Texas or Oklahoma players were invited to New York this year, the 2025 race sets an interesting stage for 2026.
- Arch Manning (Texas): With his announcement that he will return for the 2026 season, Manning enters next year as one of the preseason favorites. His development throughout the SEC gauntlet this year showed flashes of Heisman potential.
- Jackson Arnold/John Mateer (Oklahoma): Mateer’s late-season surge, including the win over Alabama, puts him on the national radar entering next season.
Congratulations to Fernando Mendoza on a season for the ages.
